The editor grew up in Paris in the Marais, Place des Vosges, in the vast library of my father and neighbor of Victor Hugo. After studying literature and intercultural relations in Quebec, teaching opened it. However, something was missing. Over time, she wanted to be closer to his passion, books, conducting literary critics in parallel to his work. Finally, the inevitable happened, and, supported by Frantz Voltaire editions CIDIHCA, she embarked on a dream: creating his own publishing house.
As Editorial Director and Founder of Editions du Marais , his first goal is to select books whose originality meet the needs of readers, but not only. Since its inception, it wants to ensure that theÉditions du Marais are not perceived as a publishing house like so many others, but as a meeting place of cultures. This teamwork provides the opportunity to meet the authors who do a fabulous job and gather readers around cultures or religions that are part of the social fabric in a spirit of mutual understanding, and this in the joy of reading.
“Uniformity is death, diversity that’s life” Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bakunin
The main criteria that motivate my choice whether to publish a book based on the following three elements:
- Quality, both in French than in English,
- Originality
- The message. Last pillar, but not the least; the Publishing Marais aim to promote diversity in our society.
