History and main achievements
The company of “Editions du Marais” was born in December 2005 in Montreal. The owner and editorial director is Natania Etienne, professor of art.
Companion of the writer Gerard Etienne, she received increasing requests from students and researchers who are working on the implementation of the Haitian intellectual.
While some of the works of the writer runs out, the other dispersed Natania Etienne feels the need to repeat the whole work of his companion in a single editorial label.
While this is in most cases re-issue and that critics have produced work on these works, Natania Etienne has approached some of them to ask them to accompany the reissue of critical prefaces .
Speaking about his project to writers, they ask her if she could not expand his project to create a place of publications that would make éditionautrement: a place to share thoughts cross where the exchange of ideas would be fully involved in publication activity.
When it comes to finding the name of the publishing house Editions du Marais , which repeated the name of the Cercle d’Etudes du Marais , Natania Etienne expresses a desire to celebrate and honor in his own way the memory of the Parisian middle which he grew up; the logo is a reproduction of a front of the house of his childhood.
